Holiness in Consecrated Life

Even today, as in every era of the life of the Church, it is needful to turn one's gaze toward the men and women who shine forth brilliantly the holiness of God in their lives, in their action, and in their teaching, and to imitate them with a return, by means of conversion, to following Christ, his Gospel and his deeds.

The liturgical and sanctoral calendar of every Franciscan Family is rich! There is no doubt, even if at times this richness is missed, forgotten above all in the common, liturgical celebration of our prayer. As if saying that to celebrate the 'saint or blessed' of the Order is to forget or put in a lesser light the mystery of Christ and salvation he works for us. In fact, it is not so rare to find many of our fraternities where they don't celebrate a blessed of the Order on some day because he is 'only' blessed—and one speaks of a local cult!
