Discover the History and Places of the Franciscan Centenaries

The celebration of the Franciscan Centenaries, which began in January 2023 with the anniversary of the Rule and the Nativity at Greccio, continues with new stages.  A series of educational videos are now available, focusing on the most relevant places for this celebratory journey that will end in 2026 with the 800th anniversary of the Transitus of our Seraphic Father St. Francis.

Among the places referred to in the videos are Fonte Colombo, Greccio, San Damiano, The Portiuncula and La Verna. Each video has a brief explanation of the place and recalls its importance throughout the centuries for the entire Franciscan family. The "Franciscan Centenaries" celebration marks the 800-year anniversary of the most important events in the life of St. Francis before his death. These include the Rule and the Nativity at Greccio (2023), The gift of the Stigmata (2024), The Canticle of the Creatures (2025) and the Transitus of St. Francis (2026).

To learn more about these celebrations and the activities that will take place over the coming years, you can visit the official website www.centenarifrancescani.org. Below, you will find videos of the centenary sites in Italian, English and Spanish.
