Approaching 500 Years Since the Birth of the Capuchin Reform
- Published in Other news items
We are only a few years away from celebrating the 500th anniversary of the birth of the Capuchin Reform, which we date July 3, 1528, with the Bull “Religionis Zelus” by Pope Clement VII. Given the importance of this event for the whole Order, the friars of the Province of the Marches (the cradle of the Order) have begun a 5-year journey of formation and celebration activities to share the grace and joy of these five hundred years of reform.
One of the goals of this journey is to remember the richness of our Order for the Church and for the world; for this reason, the slogan “Discovering the riches that the Order has sown in the land where it was born” sums up the essence of the entire course of the celebration. This year, there will be a series of events on July 1, 2 and 3 at the Capuchin friary in Camerino, including time for family sharing, educational, recreational and cultural activities.
