PACC Conference Meeting in Lipa, Philippines

From October 16 to 21, 2023, at the Capuchin Retreat Center in Lipa City, Batangas, Philippines, all members of the Pacific-Asia Capuchin Conference (PACC) - comprising provincial ministers, custodes, delegates and their respective council members - will hold a joint meeting with the General Minister and his Council. It is estimated that there will be a total of about fifty participants at the meeting. This event is entitled "Capuchins in Asia-Pacific: joyful friars promoting collaboration and solidarity to develop our presence and strengthen our identity toward a brighter future."

The planning committee chose this theme when it met in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, from 16 to 18 May. The organizers started from an observation: the works of the Capuchins in Asia-Pacific have had a significant impact on the life of the Order in general. In fact, some of these provinces and custodies have sent several missionaries to other provinces or custodies in other parts of the world. Therefore, an important meeting between the major superiors is deemed necessary to guarantee the good functioning, orientation and objectives of this collaboration. Through this meeting, the Capuchin friars of PACC hope to strengthen their bond of brotherhood to build a more visible presence today. Also, in the meeting with the General Minister and his Council, they will be able to better learn and discover the orientations/goals of the Order in the near future, to place them into their specific context.
