Br. Victorius Dwiardy

Br. Victorius Dwiardy is the new Bishop of the Diocese of Banjarmasin, Indonesia. Pope Francis appointed him on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

 Our brother, until now a General Councilor of the Order, was born in Sebalos on December 14, 1968. After his novitiate, he continued philosophical and theological studies in the Inter-Diocesan Major Seminary of Pematangsiantar, Sumatra. He made perpetual profession in the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor in 1997 and was ordained a priest on Oct. 10, 1998. During his years with the Order, he held the following offices and pursued further studies: assistant parish priest of the Cathedral of Pontianak (1998-2001); assistant parish priest of St. Fransiskus Asisi in Tebet, Jakarta and studies in civil law at the Christian University in Jakarta (2002-2008); president of the Dharma Insan Foundation (2008-2013); chancellor of the Archdiocese of Pontianak (2008-2012); councilor of the Capuchin Province of Pontianak (2009-2012); provincial minister of the Capuchins of Pontianak (2012-2013). Since 2013 he has been General Councilor of the Order of the Capuchin Friars Minor in Rome, with responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region (PACC). To Br. Victorius we offer our best wishes and prayers on the part of the entire Order so that his ministry to the particular church of Banjarmasin will bear good fruit abundantly!
