Br. Victorius Dwiardy

Br. Victorius Dwiardy is the new Bishop of the Diocese of Banjarmasin, Indonesia. Pope Francis appointed him on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

 Our brother, until now a General Councilor of the Order, was born in Sebalos on December 14, 1968. After his novitiate, he continued philosophical and theological studies in the Inter-Diocesan Major Seminary of Pematangsiantar, Sumatra. He made perpetual profession in the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor in 1997 and was ordained a priest on Oct. 10, 1998. During his years with the Order, he held the following offices and pursued further studies: assistant parish priest of the Cathedral of Pontianak (1998-2001); assistant parish priest of St. Fransiskus Asisi in Tebet, Jakarta and studies in civil law at the Christian University in Jakarta (2002-2008); president of the Dharma Insan Foundation (2008-2013); chancellor of the Archdiocese of Pontianak (2008-2012); councilor of the Capuchin Province of Pontianak (2009-2012); provincial minister of the Capuchins of Pontianak (2012-2013). Since 2013 he has been General Councilor of the Order of the Capuchin Friars Minor in Rome, with responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region (PACC). To Br.
